Kiosk player: hide taskbar & auto-restart
Built to run without you. Keep the wall looking like a show — not a Windows desktop — and bring NARANI back if someone closes it.
What these settings do
- Auto-play on start — saved videos play when NARANI launches (app start, not a separate “power returns” OS feature).
- Hide mouse cursor — system cursor hidden only while video is playing.
- Block taskbar, notifications & edge swipe — cleaner visitor view; reduces accidental desktop peeks.
- Auto-restart on exit — installed builds only. A watcher relaunches NARANI after exit. To fully quit: turn this off first, then exit.
Steps
- Install with Setup Auto-restart needs the installed build. Portable or ad-hoc runs may not get the watcher.
- Open Settings In the top bar, choose Settings.
- Turn playback helpers on Set Auto-play on start to On if the wall should start alone after boot (also add NARANI to Windows startup if the PC reboots overnight — that part is OS-level).
- Enable the kiosk trio Turn On: Hide mouse cursor · Block taskbar, notifications & edge swipe · Auto-restart on exit.
- Test a full cycle Play from Status, confirm the desktop stays out of sight, then close NARANI once — it should come back if auto-restart is on.
Sound tip: Playback sound uses window 1 only, so a multi-speaker wall does not stack audio from every screen.
When you need a real quit
With auto-restart On, closing the app is temporary. Open Settings → Auto-restart on exit → Off, then exit NARANI. That is the supported way to stop the watcher.
